Tissue culture laboratory

Tissue culture is any living part of a plant ,under sterile conditions ,in an artificial planting medium, planted under controlled environmental factors obtaining a new plant. The laboratory used for this process is the tissue culture laboratory.

The benefits of tissue culture are many.
   - You can get more plants at once.
   - The mother plant can get identical plants.
   - More plants can be obtained in a small place.
   - Conservation of endangered plant species can be done.
   - Genetic engineering can create new variants. Etc.

There are four main sections in a tissue culture laboratory. They are,
    1.Cleanng and media processing unit
    2.Sterilized special chamber
    3.Planting chamber
    4.Plant hardening unit

Cleaning and media processing unit :

Although this is as a single part, it is advisable to have the cleaning section and the media processing section separately. As the tasks performed in the cleaning unit,

       .Washing of brought plant parts.
.Removing unwanted parts and separating the tissue.
.Washing the tissue with running water
.Washing the tissue with a fungicide.
Large zincs , antiseptics , water and distilled water used for this purposes.

In the media processing unit ,planting medium is prepared and sterilized. For that electronic scales, pressure heaters, electric ovens, electronic turbulences, pH meters, planting bottles Etc. are used.

Sterilized special chamber  :

Here the separated tissue  sections are deposited in the implant medium. It is important to maintain a sterile environment in this chamber. Laminar flow cabinet and UV bulbs are mainly used for this purpose. The micro-filter in the laminar flow cabinet draws sterile air in to the cabinet and expels the sterilized air under a pressure.

Planting chamber :

Planting bottles with tissue sections inserted, it is the place where the tissues stored, giving it the conditions it needs to grow. Artificially provides the optimum temperature, humidity and light needed for tissue growth. The side walls of the room are made of transparent glass to prevent frequent entry into the nursery to inspect the planting bottles.

Plant hardening unit :

Root-grown seedling obtained from the plant are removed from the artificial planting medium and transplanted in the normal cultivation center. Plants that initially grew under optimal conditions are gradually exposed to the external environment. this prevents tissue culture plant from being destroyed after planting the field.
